What To Do in the Critical First Hours of a Neurological Emergency
The Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) course is designed to help healthcare professionals improve patient care and outcomes during the critical first hours of a patient’s neurological emergency. Now in its fifth version, ENLS demonstrates a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach and provides a consistent set of protocols, practical checklists, decision points, and suggested communication to use during patient management.

ENLS consists of 14 protocols:

Each protocol was designed and written by neurointensivists and emergency medicine physicians. Course Options
ENLS is a versatile course that can be taken either online or in a live course format.
Self-Directed: Taking ENLS online is a great option for the busy healthcare provider. Individuals or organizations can purchase the course online, and participants can progress through the modules at their own pace.
Instructor-Led: The live ENLS course is a great addition to a conference or healthcare institution's continuing-education offerings. The course is conducted by certified ENLS trainers. All attendees are provided access to the online course and materials. Once the live course is complete, students access the Self-Directed ENLS course online to complete their certification. Accreditation
NCS's ENLS courses have been planned and implemented by Ciné-Med and the Neurocritical Care Society. This activity is designated for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 CME, ANCC, and ACPE credits upon completion. Certification
To gain ENLS certification, the online portion of the course must be completed. This involves passing the 14 exams with a score of 70% or higher. Recertification
Certification can be renewed by completing the ENLS Recertification Course. This course includes medical updates and module additions to the original course's manuscripts and protocols.
